What to document before reporting a Wi-Fi issue
Capture where, when, and which devices are affected so troubleshooting starts with useful information.
Capture the pattern
Write down where the issue occurs, when it started, and whether it is constant or intermittent. Note the network name and whether it affects one device, one area, or several areas.
Describe what stops working
Does the device lose its Wi-Fi connection, stay connected without internet access, or struggle with one application? Record the exact error text if there is one. These symptoms can point to different causes.
Note recent changes
Mention moved equipment, new walls or shelving, added devices, provider changes, or recent configuration work. If another device works in the same location, include that observation.
Share observations with your support contact
Provide device models, approximate times, and a screenshot of the error if useful. Do not include passwords in the report. Avoid resetting equipment to factory defaults while collecting information; that can remove settings needed to diagnose the issue.
